Nativz Esports Club Reset Explained
š Collegiate Talent Pipeline | š®šŖ Ireland's Biggest Academy | šš¼ NLC Departure
Hi there,
Weāve been unusually quiet over the past few weeks so it felt right that we sent you an update on what weāve been working towards. To set the scene, over the last 6 months weāve released these three key articles that :
Nativz Esports Club transitions for success (12 May 2024)
Biggest esports academy in Ireland (20 Jun 2024)
Goodbye NLC, itās time for a reset (25 Nov 2024)
What this all boils down to is that running a successful NLC team that can challenge in the EMEA Masters takes a lot of resources, time and money. Unfortunately neither competition provides enough central funding to make it feasible. With that in mind, I wanted to take this opportunity to dive into a few questions we thought you might be askingā¦.
Why reset the club?
Our path to success is only possible through building in a financially sustainable way. We donāt want to be another āesports orgā that fails by relying solely on sponsorship.
If I had to put my finger on three elements that created the opportunity for change it would be these ones:
While the NLC has provided us with profile and some great learnings, itās not a financially sustainable competition to compete in, central funds arenāt there
Competing remotely relies heavily on a digital only revenues, it forgoes any in-person opportunities which esports fans want, those in-person meet ups
Nativz Gaming owns the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series, its growing and caters for seven titles with strong communities and loads of talented players
What is the Four Nations?
Itās the level below the NLC and caters for Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Englandā¦yes I hear you all screaming itās five nations, weāre screaming with you.
Weāve got a lot of local talent within the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series that can compete in this competition, and with support could challenge for promotion back into the NLC. When? Letās see on that one.
How is the Academy rollout going?
Good. Weāve got Jan Biernacki on board as our Academy Lead, heās well connected into the collegiate esports scene and also sits on the broader Nativz Gaming Leadership Team.
The info that Iām sure you really want to know is which game titles are we rolling out and when is this happening, right? Hereās the rundown for you:
Counter Strike 2 - done, weāre not only up and running but weāre winning! The team are currently 13th in the ESEA competition.
Teamfight Tactics - new to Ireland Collegiate, itās the lesser known Riot Games title and itās for individuals. Weāll be announcing our roster for TFT next.
Rocket League - applicants for our Rocket League team are strong, weāre looking forward to getting them locked in and announced soon.
Valorant - overwhelmed with applications for this team, trials are to follow so we can find the best team possible.
League of Legends - itās all about the Four Nations Div 2 Open Qualifiers which start late Jan/early Feb.
EA FC - we see the eLeague of Ireland as the ideal entry point in collaboration with a club or two.
Formula 1 - this is the most challenging simply because there isnāt much opportunity to compete, weāve got an idea though so bear with us.
Will you keep us updated as the Academy grows?
Absof-inglutely. Liv (as she likes to be called) has joined the team and is going to get us back up and running with a weekly roundup right into your inbox.
Thank you for your support as always. If you have any more questions feel free to shoot them over to me directly via [email protected] and Iāll get back to you asap.
