Nativz Esports Club Reset Explained

šŸ”“ Collegiate Talent Pipeline | šŸ‡®šŸ‡Ŗ Ireland's Biggest Academy | šŸ‘‹šŸ¼ NLC Departure

Hi there,

Weā€™ve been unusually quiet over the past few weeks so it felt right that we sent you an update on what weā€™ve been working towards. To set the scene, over the last 6 months weā€™ve released these three key articles that :

What this all boils down to is that running a successful NLC team that can challenge in the EMEA Masters takes a lot of resources, time and money. Unfortunately neither competition provides enough central funding to make it feasible. With that in mind, I wanted to take this opportunity to dive into a few questions we thought you might be askingā€¦.

Why reset the club?

Our path to success is only possible through building in a financially sustainable way. We donā€™t want to be another ā€˜esports orgā€™ that fails by relying solely on sponsorship.

If I had to put my finger on three elements that created the opportunity for change it would be these ones:

  1. While the NLC has provided us with profile and some great learnings, itā€™s not a financially sustainable competition to compete in, central funds arenā€™t there

  2. Competing remotely relies heavily on a digital only revenues, it forgoes any in-person opportunities which esports fans want, those in-person meet ups

  3. Nativz Gaming owns the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series, its growing and caters for seven titles with strong communities and loads of talented players

What is the Four Nations?

Itā€™s the level below the NLC and caters for Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Englandā€¦yes I hear you all screaming itā€™s five nations, weā€™re screaming with you.

Weā€™ve got a lot of local talent within the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series that can compete in this competition, and with support could challenge for promotion back into the NLC. When? Letā€™s see on that one.

How is the Academy rollout going?

Good. Weā€™ve got Jan Biernacki on board as our Academy Lead, heā€™s well connected into the collegiate esports scene and also sits on the broader Nativz Gaming Leadership Team.

The info that Iā€™m sure you really want to know is which game titles are we rolling out and when is this happening, right? Hereā€™s the rundown for you:

  1. Counter Strike 2 - done, weā€™re not only up and running but weā€™re winning! The team are currently 13th in the ESEA competition.

  2. Teamfight Tactics - new to Ireland Collegiate, itā€™s the lesser known Riot Games title and itā€™s for individuals. Weā€™ll be announcing our roster for TFT next.

  3. Rocket League - applicants for our Rocket League team are strong, weā€™re looking forward to getting them locked in and announced soon.

  4. Valorant - overwhelmed with applications for this team, trials are to follow so we can find the best team possible.

  5. League of Legends - itā€™s all about the Four Nations Div 2 Open Qualifiers which start late Jan/early Feb.

  6. EA FC - we see the eLeague of Ireland as the ideal entry point in collaboration with a club or two.

  7. Formula 1 - this is the most challenging simply because there isnā€™t much opportunity to compete, weā€™ve got an idea though so bear with us.

Will you keep us updated as the Academy grows?

Absof-inglutely. Liv (as she likes to be called) has joined the team and is going to get us back up and running with a weekly roundup right into your inbox.

Thank you for your support as always. If you have any more questions feel free to shoot them over to me directly via [email protected] and Iā€™ll get back to you asap.
